Hi, I'm Matt.
After working in advertising for 10 years, I started my adventure in education teaching middle school science and have focused on high school Health, Biology, AP Bio, and Physiology since 2020. I received my Masters in Curriculum & Instruction from CSUDH and center a humanizing pedagogical approaching my teaching while rethinking how classroom management, equitable grading, and student engagement can be be supportive of and to cultivating curiosity that can inspire self and social change.
Presented “Hacking the System: Digital Technologies, Social Media, and Research in a Health Science Classroom” at the American Educational Research Association Annual Meeting in 2022.
Certified equitable grading facilitator that deliver ongoing coaching and professional development to support teachers in implementing proficiency based grading practices.
When I'm not teaching I'm trying to get to the beach or one of the other great places in LA with my family and dogs, am reading a new book, or sweating it out at CrossFit.
